Some Home-Starts provide specific programmes and interventions while others are delivering a supportive ear and signposting to local statutory services. There is a community of learning developing and an opportunity to build on the existing practice to ensure a consistent and skilled offer across the whole Home-Start network in supporting perinatal and infant mental health. Raising awareness, upskilling the Home-Start workforce and ensuring consistent and evidence-led communication on these important topics will ensure that families can be supported well as part of a wider system of care. This role would build on the first PIMH role we have in place in Scotland, ensuring that there is a development lead across England, Wales and NI, and a consistent approach across all four nations from a practice perspective.
