As a Perfusionist you will support the Head of Perfusion in the management of the clinical area. This will involve dealing with complex situations and having to take appropriate action for theatres in emergency or unforeseen situations. This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Sunday). Shift pattern includes, earlies & lates plus out of hours on-call rota. The attractive and competitive salary for this role is £45,000 - £56,000 and will be dependent upon skills and experience. Please note we will close this role early if a suitable number of applications are received.Duties & Responsibilities* Provide specialist perfusion practice to support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients/clients and relatives/carers in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team* Responsible for the perfusion service to patients, by being proactive in the blood conservation programme and Near Patient testing (TEG and interpretation of results)* To assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care, actively seeking evidence based practice which will improve the quality of care and meet the needs of the patient* Regularly take charge of the clinical area, utilising resources effectively and responsible for patient parameters whilst on cardiopulmonary bypass with the administration of drugs within set guidelines* Participate in staff education and development, as well as the business planning process, helping to identify areas for service development* Identify areas where local audit is needed, conduct the audit and analyse the data with supportSkills and Experience
