Job Description

People Costs Officer, Arts, London, Maternity Cover up to 12 months, c.£32,200Our client, a world-renowned arts organisation based in Central London requires a People Costs Officer. This is a maternity cover role and is to start ASAP. Hybrid working.The People Costs Officer duties involve a wide range of support activities inside the HR and Finance team to monitor and control people related costs and related workforce planning. Success in this role will lead to morejoined up reporting between finance and people departments leading to managers being supported in all people related cost issues, by developing knowledge of people and finance data reporting HR systems and payroll. The successful candidate will be enthusiasticand motivated in the support of a busy team in a fast-paced environment.

  • Review and reconcile cost codes monthly between HR and finance
  • Support People team and accounts to support the annual pay modelling process
  • Monitor payroll trackers and pulling reports for teams as needed along with handling related queries
  • Track payroll vs budget per business unit, and advise of over and underspends
  • Audit headcount of casual workers
  • Establishing a process for authorising the engagement of casual workers
  • Ensuring all off payroll staff are IR35 compliant
  • Work as a central link between departments ensuring best practice around on and off boarding
  • Assist with regular audits of payroll
  • Participating in collating information for regular dashboard reports
  • Work with payroll and accounts to complete and reconcile payroll
  • Establish robust processes for dealing with payroll related queries
  • Review and audit payroll monthly ensuring all changes are captured and accounted for
Requirements: A minimum of a years experience working in a busy administrative support role in HR or Payroll departmentA good understanding of budgets and people related costs in an organisation Committed to providing outstanding customer focused service Payroll knowledge and systems, inc; a focus on Excel and Resourcelink Positive attitude towards working in a fast-paced environment Able to take ownership of key projects, and demonstrable experience in maintaining efficient admin systems Ability to communicate clearly and confidently via telephone, in person and in writing. Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
