Job Description

People & Development AssistantTempPimlico (hybrid)Main duties & ResponsibilitiesRecruitment

  • Advise managers on all stages of the recruitment and selection process.
  • Maintain the job listings on the applicant tracking system and liaise with external advertising agencies as required.
  • First point of contact with perspective applicants, responding to queries efficiently and effectively.
  • Liaise with managers and applicants to co-ordinate interviews and assessments.
  • Provide administrative support in all stages of the recruitment process, including the preparation of application packs, shortlisting schedules, interview paperwork, etc.
  • Notify candidates of the outcome of selection processes.
  • Carry out all requisite pre-employment checks (references, right to work in the UK, professional qualifications, DBS checks, etc) in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and issue offer letters and contracts of employment.
  • Liaise with managers to plan new starter inductions, conduct HR Induction meetings & monitor outstanding items for new starters.
Other
  • Monitor induction and probationary review processes, ensuring all paperwork is completed and returned accurately and timely, raising any issues with the HR Manager
  • Monitor fixed-term contracts and secondments, taking relevant action where necessary
  • Update and maintain the HR database
  • Respond to general HR database queries.
  • On an ad-hoc basis take notes at meetings as required
Person specification:
  • Educated to degree level in a business-related subject (minimum grade 2:2, 2:1 preferred)
  • Intermediate IT skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbally)
  • Good level of numeracy
  • Possess excellent organisational skills
