Pearson Primary Lead Trainer - MathsReference: PRI/LEAD/TRA/MATHClosing date: 21 July 2022 at midnightPrimary Lead Trainer: MathsPurposePearson UK is currently recruiting for a Primary Lead Trainer for maths.Applications are welcome from those who have considerable experience of delivering of Power Maths PD courses. Knowledge of Abacus and Heinemann Active Maths would also be useful. Applicants must also have significant knowledge of a mastery approach to teachingmaths and be enthusiastic about engaging and motivating teachers and school leaders.The Lead Trainer will play a key role in supporting the quality of professional development delivery across the range of Pearsons primary maths products. They will lead on the quality assurance of training delivery and content development areas as required,to help promote consistency in standards across Pearsons professional development services.The Lead Trainer will carry out trainer observations, review training content, and provide feedback, highlighting best practice and opportunities for improvement. They will also act as a point of contact to their team of trainers throughout the year, providingsupport and guidance on the delivery and writing of training when required.The Lead Trainer will be required to work collaboratively with key Pearson contacts, such as the PD managers, in order to keep up to date on any internal changes impacting the delivery of training and product development. They need to demonstrate a highlevel of understanding of the current education climate in order to provide guidance to their team.Key AccountabilitiesOversee the performance of a team of trainers, carrying out observations and producing written feedback reports on the quality of deliveryIdentify opportunities for improvement in individual training delivery, and make recommendations based on observations and/or delegate feedbackReview written materials and make recommendations to improve the quality of training contentDesign and deliver CPD events, both online and face-to-face, to our cohort of trainers and writersAct as a mentor to a team of trainers by providing support and guidance throughout the yearReport to the PD managers on the performance of trainers, escalating any risks to deliveryRegularly review course evaluations from schools and act upon feedback under the direction of the PD managersCascade relevant information to the team of trainers as appropriateSupport the Professional Development team with trainer and recruitment campaigns as required, including the delivery of Train the Trainer and Induction programmes as appropriateExperience and qualifications requiredEssentialYou will be an experienced, qualified primary school teacherYou will have strong product and subject knowledgeYou will have experience of delivering Primary maths product training on behalf of Pearson UK, both face-to-face and onlineYou will have proven leadership and management skillsYou will be able to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to your own professional development, as well as identifying and developing talentDesirableExperience of developing training materialsAn understanding of the needs of Early Years, KS1, KS2 and KS3 maths methodologiesCompetencies RequiredYou will have strong leadership and influencing skillsYou will have strong communication and presentation skillsYou will have the ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlinesYou will be IT literate
