Job Description

A global financial services business currently requires a Payroll Specialist to join them on a permanent basis in their London office. As a member of the Payroll team, you will primarily be focused on the administration and coordination of payroll for our offices in the United Kingdom and Netherlands. This position will focus on UK and NL payroll to start, but may expand into other jurisdictions as you grow within your career. We expect the person in this role to provide insight for vendors to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance. You will work closely with our employees and vendors to assure tax reporting, benefits-records administration, and payroll issues are handled accurately and responsibly.Additional responsibilities of this role will include:

  • Ensuring the timely preparation and accurate processing of UK & NL payroll
  • Preparing updates to payroll records, monitoring changes in compensation and completing month end, quarterly and annual processes
  • Liaising with HR team on employee matters relating to payroll
  • Providing friendly customer service to employees and promptly responding to their payroll questions
  • Preparing monthly payroll reports and reconciliations
  • Assisting in the review of year end forms including P60, P11D and PSA
  • Providing support during audits
  • Maintaining payroll and internal control procedures
  • Staying abreast of best practices and current payroll laws and regulations
  • Recommending ways to improve and automate payroll processes
  • Requirements
  • 5-7 years of UK and international payroll experience
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Accounting or a related field
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail
  • Mature, professional, and trustworthy, handles sensitive information with excellent judgment and discretion
  • Able to work independently and proactively with exceptional analytical skills
  • Able to handle competing priorities and to work effectively in a challenging, fast-paced environment
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience working with Workday HR and Payroll is a plus
  • Experience working with expat payroll is a plus
