Job Description

We are looking for a Payroll and Tax Administrator to join a British manufacturer of luxury stationery, leather goods, diaries, and fashion products based in London. You will be responsible for processing the monthly payroll for the global Group of 200+employees in a timely & accurate manner, and maintaining confidentiality. Liaising with our outsourced payroll providers in certain jurisdictions to resolve payroll queries and ensure accurate processing of payroll changes. Responsible for all post monthlypayroll reporting and payroll journals. Preparation and submission of monthly and quarterly VAT and tax returns in various jurisdictions and liaison with external tax support provider.You will do/be:

  • Process payroll; collection of change information, commission payments and overtime hours from Retail/HR departments and input into ADP
  • Preparation of manual adjustments to the payroll where required and input into ADP
  • Submission of payroll within ADP
  • Review and provision of information to local accountants and outsourced payroll providers for US and France
  • Preparation and posting of payroll journals for all jurisdictions
  • Perform month-end and year-end balance sheet reconciliations of payroll accounts
  • Prepare monthly payroll reporting for audit purposes, including headcount & full time employee analysis
  • Create pension analysis and upload pension information for two UK pension schemes.
  • Set up BACS payment of PAYE and NI for the UK, taking into account childcare vouchers and attachment of earnings orders
  • Deal with ad hoc employee payroll queries
  • Complete ad hoc forms from external bodies relating to employees earnings
  • Calculate and process furlough pay under CJRS rules, and submit claim to HMRC on a monthly basis
  • Responsible for overseeing the foreign sales tax reporting, including the calculation of sales tax in the US and France. Liaise with external supporting partners in these jurisdictions to ensure returns are submitted on a timely basis
  • Ensure compliance with EU VAT requirements on a monthly/quarterly basis, and tracking of returns/payments
  • VAT reconciliations to be prepared monthly and reviewed with Finance Director
  • Maintaining accurate tax records
Requirements
  • At least 3 years experience working with payroll - US and French payroll experience desirable
  • A solid working knowledge of Microsoft Excel essential
  • Experience working with furlough
  • ADP iHCM and SAP desirable
  • Excellent attention to detail and respect for confidentiality
  • Able to confidently communicate with people at all levels
  • Proactive and able to work on their own initiative
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated and hard working individual
  • VAT experience/tax administration is desirable but not essential
