Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading trading house for a fixed 6 month contract.The role responsibilities are:Payroll

  • Process UK and overseas payrolls to include input of data, instructions to third party providers, and checking of output
  • Process month end reporting
  • Prepare monthly payroll journal
  • Process various monthly reconciliations
  • Arrange payroll sign-off
  • Deal with queries from employees, managers, HMRC and third parties as required
  • Calculate and process manual payments
  • Raise payment requisitions for payroll deductions to statutory bodies and benefits providers
  • Assist with expatriate administration and tax reconciliations
  • Support and liaise with Finance re payroll accounting
  • Develop and maintain written payroll procedures
  • File monthly EPS
  • Assist with tax year end, P11D and PSA reporting
  • Monitor overseas visitors to UK (STBV)
  • Assist ad hoc reporting as and when required
  • Monthly Pension Auto Enrolment
Benefits Administration
  • Maintain membership lists for employee benefits
  • Support and liaise with benefits providers
  • Assist with benefits benchmarking, analysis and reporting
  • Review provider costs for best value
  • Assist with annual benefits renewals
  • Ad hoc project work as required
Experience required
  • 2-4 years UK payroll experience
  • Financial Services experience preferred but not essential
  • Working knowledge of pension auto enrolment and benefits administration
  • High-level numeracy skills
Technical requirements
  • Payroll systems literate
  • SD Worx experience preferred but not essential
  • Intermediate Excel and Word skills
  • Good working knowledge of PAYE, income tax, national insurance, student loans and statutory payments (SMP, SPP, SSP etc) this is not an exhaustive list
  • Good working knowledge of pensions auto-enrolment legislation
