Pastoral Teaching AssistantLambethMarch StartAn outstanding Special Needs School in Lambeth is recruiting an experienced Pastoral Teaching Assistant for a full time long-term on-going role. The post starts in March 2021 and is for the remainder of the academic year.The school is in a large purpose-built building with 150 pupils on roll. Pupils are aged 9-19 years old, with EHCPs for social and communication needs, many of the students also have Autism. As well as offering students an engaging curriculum, they also work hard to develop communication and social skills.As pastoral TA you will work with the inclusion team to support individual students with their learning through planned interventions and activities. You will work with class teachers to improve attainment and behaviour, providing regular updates to your line manager and SLT. Additional responsibility will include patrolling the school to make sure students are in lessons and resolving any issues that may arise.You will work with outside professionals including SALT, EP and OT.For the right candidate, the headteacher is open to employing an Pastoral co-ordinator, which will have additional responsibilities and be reflected in the salary.Successful candidates will have a caring, calm personality with a keen interest to progress in the field of SEN.For candidates who commit, the school can offer excellent rates of pay, as well as a friendly and stable working environment.The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
