Job Title: Secondary Pastoral LeadLocation: Westminster, LondonSalary:Job Title:£27,690 - £30,900Contract: Full-Time, PermanentAre you a compassionate and dedicated individual with a passion for supporting the social, emotional, and personal development of young learners We have an exciting opportunity for a Pastoral Lead to join our reputable secondary school in Westminster, London,starting in September.We are seeking a skilled and empathetic Pastoral Lead to join our dedicated pastoral team. As a Pastoral Lead, you will play a crucial role in providing guidance, support, and pastoral care to students, helping them navigate their personal and social challenges,and fostering a positive school culture.Responsibilities:

  • Establish positive relationships with students, creating a safe and supportive environment.
  • Provide one-on-one support and guidance to students, addressing their emotional, social, and behavioral needs.
  • Develop and implement pastoral programs and initiatives to enhance students personal development and well-being.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents/guardians, and external agencies to support students overall welfare and progress.
  • Conduct regular pastoral assessments, identify students requiring additional support, and develop individualized action plans.
  • Organize and lead group workshops and sessions on topics such as resilience, self-esteem, conflict resolution, and mental health awareness.
  • Implement strategies to promote positive behavior, peer relationships, and a respectful school culture.
  • Liaise with external organizations and professionals to access additional support services for students when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the safeguarding team to ensure the safety and welfare of all students.
  • Keep accurate records of student progress, interventions, and referrals.
  • Participate in relevant training, professional development opportunities, and departmental meetings.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a pastoral or student support role, preferably within a secondary school setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues.
  • Strong understanding of child development, adolescent issues, and the challenges faced by students in a school environment.
  • Empathy, patience, and the ability to build trust and rapport with students.
  • Knowledge of relevant safeguarding procedures and child protection policies.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to prioritize and manage a varied workload.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive school culture.
