Job Description

Hunter Merrifield are delighted to partner with Water & Sanitation for the Urban Poor, to find a Partnerships Manager. We are looking for somebody with a genuine interest in making a difference to some of the worlds poorest communities! The role is splitbetween around 60% account management and 40% new business.WSUPs work is bringing vital water, sanitation, and hygiene to the poorest urban communities, helping people live healthy, dignified lives and underpinning livelihoods, access to education, gender equality and climate resilience.Job Title: Partnerships Manager - Major Gifts and Corporates Organisation: Water & Sanitation for the Urban Poor (WSUP)Salary: circa £36,245 - £38,510Contract: Permanent, Full timeLocation: London (Hybrid working)Required: CV and Cover Letter Closing date: Monday 10th May 2022This is an exciting opportunity for a fundraiser to work autonomously across business development and account management with a number of quite prestigious corporate partners. Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the plans and donor journey for WSUPs engagement with corporate partners to complement the global funding strategy.
  • Develop and deliver a proactive research and pipeline management plan, identifying promising prospective partnerships.
  • Support the Head of Funding in developing donor cultivation pathways for prospects generated by WSUPs Board and Senior Leadership Team
  • Undertake funder research and network mapping, building the prospect pipeline and making approaches to increase funding for WSUPs work.
  • Take the lead in securing funding through managing the preparation, submission and follow up of funding proposals to relevant partnerships, including the development of high quality and compelling concept notes, proposals, and pitches for opportunities.
  • Work with relevant colleagues on development of complex, multi-partner proposals.
  • Maintain oversight of a portfolio of partnerships, identifying priorities and gaps, and regularly briefing the Head of Funding.
  • Identify strategic external communications opportunities relating to partnerships and liaise with communications colleagues to ensure opportunities are taken up.
Experience and Qualities
  • Experience of high value relationship management including securing and managing funding from corporate partnerships.
  • Experience of planning and budgeting processes, comprehensive understanding of financial reporting review and analysis
  • Proven ability to provide clear guidance on donor policies, procedures, or preferences
  • Experience in writing compelling concept notes and proposals and delivering successful pitches to funders
  • Experience of identifying and researching new funding opportunities and building a pipeline of prospective partnerships.
