Job Description

Paraplanner, The Role: I am recruiting an experienced Paraplanner on behalf of Paradigm Norton, an award-winning financial planning firm. This is a great opportunity for a diploma qualified Paraplanner (DipPFS) to be involved in client meetingsand develop their technical expertise and professional qualifications, while working alongside a highly experienced Client Manager, with the support required to become a Chartered and Certified Financial Planner. The successful Paraplanner will be responsiblefor technical research, cash flow modelling, attending meetings with high-net-worth clients, producing recommendations and supporting with the building and implementation of the financial planning solutions required to meet a variety of client needs and personalgoals. Salary: £45-55,000 (dependant on experience), plus an exceptional benefits package including; 23 days holiday + 12 wellbeing days + bank holidays + support with professional training + 10% employers pension contribution+ income protection scheme + private medical insurance + life assurance + healthcare cash plan + cycle to work scheme.Home Working and Flexibility: We are happy to facilitate a degree of home working but as this role is supporting a London based Client Manager with involvement in client meetings, a willingness to travel to the London office (EC1V) as requiredis necessary. Putting the clients goals at the heart of the process they deliver comprehensive and bespoke financial planning, investment and portfolio management, tax and estate planning and advice on giving and philanthropy, translatingcomplex financial issues and strategies for high net worth clients into workable solutions.Paraplanner, Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside the Client Manager to deliver a highly personalised holistic financial planning service to a select group of London clients.
  • Attend client meetings with the Client Manager and keep in regular communication with clients, by telephone, email and letter.
  • Produce excellent standards of client work including compliant recommendations and reports.
  • Undertake technical research for both client work and personal development.
  • Analyse portfolios, benchmarking, rebalancing and on-going portfolio maintenance.
  • Delegate tasks effectively to the support team, ensuring the highest levels of client service are delivered.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of developments in legislation, investment and technology.
  • Contribute to development of best practice within the Financial Planning Team and wider firm initiatives.
Paraplanner, Skills and Experience:
  • Between 1-2 years solid paraplanning experience.
  • Diploma in Financial Planning (Dip PFS)
  • Preferably working towards or keen to study for Certified/Chartered Financial Planner qualifications (support with this will be provided).
  • Knowledge in all areas of financial planning (investment and wealth management, pensions and retirement planning, protection, inheritance and tax planning etc), ideally with experience of cashflow modelling and working with high-net-worth clients.
  • A strong technology and mathematical aptitude.
  • A strong relationship builder and collaborative team player with a customer centric approach.
