Job Description

Davenport Solicitors is looking for an experienced paralegal/Solicitor to join our team. The role involves supporting the Solicitors with client matters and assisting with the smooth running, and efficient and effective management of the firm. The successfulcandidate will be intelligent, driven, professional and proactive, with an engaging and polite telephone manner. The ability to self-develop and learn new skills quickly is essential.TeamWe are a small team of self motivated individuals with a high level of attention to detail and passion for the work we do. We provide the highest quality of client service at all times. We focus on specific issues that are facing our clients both from alegal and commercial perspective. We are 100% transparent so the client always know where they stand.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will typically need to:

  • carry out office administration, including billing and writing letters
  • organise diaries, schedule meetings and respond to telephone queries
  • respond to client queries
  • provide HR/Employment law advice to clients
  • prepare for ET hearings and comply with ET orders
  • Draft documents such as contracts, and proofread documents
  • conduct legal research
  • analyse and input legal data
  • write articles for internal or external circulation
  • organise case files, attend court/tribunals, transcribe legal opinion and compile litigation bundles
  • file documents at court
  • network with clients and build valuable relationships
  • negotiate contracts and legal documents
  • take witness statements
  • support solicitors
  • attend meetings with clients/prospective clients

  • general IT skills and knowledge of legal database certifications such as LexisNexis, Practical Law or Westlaw.
