Job Description

Working hours:Monday to Friday, 9:30am-6:00pm (Lunch hour: 12:45pm-1:45pm) with possibility of overtime workLocation:Embassy of Japan, LondonSalary:(TBD)Application Deadline:27 January 2021, 18:00Interviews:(TBA)Start date:Mid to end of February 2021 (TBD)Job Details:The Embassy of Japan seeks a highly qualified person for the role of Personal Assistant to the Consul General and general assistant to the Protocol Section. You will also collaborate with and support diplomats and local staff in other departments.Duties include:

  • Arranging appointments for the Consul General and Protocol section
  • General administrative duties such as handling correspondence, managing schedules, and maintaining contact databases
  • Supporting ad hoc events hosted at the Embassy, other work as instructed by members of the Administrative Section and Protocol Section
  • ,Requirements:
  • Competence in secretarial and protocol work (or equivalent experience) preferred
  • English language as a mother tongue or equivalent, both spoken and written
  • Good IT Skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
  • A good command of Japanese, both spoken and written, is desirable
  • Knowledge of British and/or Japanese culture, customs and etiquette is preferable
