Job Description

Its rewarding, challenging and loads of fun; youll meet some great people, and have access to brilliant training and development opportunities!Position:Outreach Support WorkerLocation: Leeds, West Yorkshire (Hunslet, Armley and Chapel Allerton)Hours: There are a variety of Full time and Part Time working options availableSalary: £18,525 per annum (pro rata for part time)About the role: As a Support Workeryou will help to improve the lives of the adults supported, by promoting understanding and acceptance of people with autism, and helping them to be included and feel valued within their communities. You will be committed to maximising personal liberties andenabling people to make choices and decisions about their own lives. To ensure the highest standards of support are provided to the people who are supported, you will work within local and national guidelines and always strive to provide the best experiencefor our service users.Key responsibilities will include: Ensure the welfare and development of all service users by providing the highest standards of care Promote and implement inclusive, person centred care planning practices Support service users to plantheir support; identify and achieve personal goals and/or outcomes Support service users in a non-judgemental manner in-keeping with the principles of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Facilitate communication in-keeping with individuals preferred methodsof communicating Help service users to develop records of their achievements and goals in a format which is right for them Promote personal liberty, choice, inclusion and decision making Complete all appropriate recording formats including health and safetyrecords, service user records, medication, etc. Ensure the safe administration and storage of medication Recognise changes with regards to physical, social and emotional well-being and bring these to the attention of your line manager Maintain professionalboundaries at all timesAbout you: You dont need to have worked in supported social care before to apply for this role, if you are caring, kind, patient this is for you.You will need to have the ability to empathise and advocate for the needs of people withautism, as well as great communication skills and basic IT skills.If you want to work in a job that is genuinely rewarding, then apply today!In return: As well as knowing what you do on a daily basis is making a real difference to peoples lives, you willalso receive the following benefits package: 25 Days annual leave + 8 bank holidays Health Care Scheme Pension Scheme Death in service benefit payments Sick pay Health and wellbeing support Learning, Development and Progression opportunities Access to ourEmployee Assistance programme, including a 24-hour helpline Referral and employee recognition programmesWhilst experience is not essential as full training will be provided, we very much welcome previous experience of working with adults with learning disabilities,Care Worker, Health Care Assistant, Support Worker, Nurses, Social Care Worker, Care Assistant, Mental Health Care Worker, Voluntary Worker.
