The Opportunity: Wonderful career opportunity working for a London HQd firm that I have personally been recruiting for since 2005 - this business is a brilliant example of a boutique asset manager that has got their foundations right and grown to be oneof the most successful and innovative firms in London, as well as having a wider Global presence Established for over 20 years my client has a reputation for managing a range of predominantly thematic active equity funds that have exceptional performance Withover £20bn AuM, my client is seeking to hire an ambitious Operations candidate who can continue their personal and professional development - study support is encouraged, including the IMC, CFA and ACCA My client has gone through a process of migrating alloutsourced functions "in house", so, all operational functions relating to the trade lifecycle are now part of the Operations team, thereby ensuring an exceptionally high level of quality and accountability is maintained The Operations Executive will supportthe delivery of Operational activities for a range of products including Irish UCITS, UK Investment Trusts, Luxemburg SICAVs, US 40ACT and Cayman offshore hedge funds Responsibilities will include and are not limited to: Fund administration and accountingFund management team and investment product support Trade mismatch and failing trades settlement Pre-trade compliance rules monitoring and review Long and short significant holdings disclosure to relevant regulatory authorities. Period end funds exposureand performance reports production and reporting. Cash and Stock Positions and transactions reconciliations The use of Technology plays a key part in the ongoing ambition for a working environment that maintains high levels of controls, governance and efficiencies.All members of the team are encouraged to develop their IT skills further and to contribute to this ongoing mission Your Experience: You will have a strong level of academic achievement (ideally a 2:1 degree) and have either started or have an ambition tocomplete relevant professional qualifications such as the IMC, CFA or ACCA - further study is encouraged and supported You will have 3 years + of trade operations experience from either an asset manager, fund administrator or potentially a custodian. Whatis key is that can demonstrate an excellent understanding of the trade lifecycle including trade settlement and resolution, reconciliations etc. Whilst this role is much broader than these duties, this granular experience is more valuable to my client thana more fund accounting (NAV) focused background Strong understanding of financial products and instruments and their accounting - ideally equities, although knowledge of fixed income and ETD derivatives would also be valuable Understanding and awareness ofkey service providers General awareness of the asset management industry including asset classes, investor types, distribution channels, fund and regulatory structures, the competitor landscape and collective investment products Knowledge of Bloomberg AIM,OMGEO, Advent Geneva would be helpful My Client: Where to start!
