Team OverviewThe Broadcast Licensing and Programme Operations team is part of Ofcom’s Broadcasting and Online Content Group. Its primary purpose is to secure a wide range of television and radio services which are of high quality and appeal to a variety of tastes and interests throughout the UK.Purpose of the RoleOfcom issues a range of different types of licences to broadcasters which permit them to offer TV and radio services. One of these types of licences (known as Short-term Restricted Service Licences or "SRSLs") allows broadcasters to air AM and FM analogue radio services in a small community area for a maximum of a month. These licences are normally used to cover an event or a religious festival. Under the lockdown restrictions, we’ve seen a huge increase in the number of applications to use these services at drive-in events. As an Operations Executive, you will be responsible for handling the initial part of the application process on our databases.Requirements of the Role
