Job Description

Team OverviewThe Broadcast Licensing and Programme Operations team is part of Ofcom’s Broadcasting and Online Content Group. Its primary purpose is to secure a wide range of television and radio services which are of high quality and appeal to a variety of tastes and interests throughout the UK.Purpose of the RoleOfcom issues a range of different types of licences to broadcasters which permit them to offer TV and radio services. One of these types of licences (known as Short-term Restricted Service Licences or "SRSLs") allows broadcasters to air AM and FM analogue radio services in a small community area for a maximum of a month. These licences are normally used to cover an event or a religious festival. Under the lockdown restrictions, we’ve seen a huge increase in the number of applications to use these services at drive-in events.As an Operations Executive, you will be responsible for handling the initial part of the application process on our databases.Requirements of the Role

  • Checking through applications and confirming receipt.
  • Accurately and speedily entering data into our databases and workbooks.
  • Identifying and pre-empting issues, handling and escalating risk.
  • Collaborating closely and effectively with other team members who assess the applications.
  • Keeping stakeholders informed and updated on progress.

  • Able to take responsibility for effective and timely delivery of high quality administrative work.
  • Able to work independently; demonstrating flexibility and adaptability and supporting a culture of collaboration and trust.
