Naturally, we must deliver a service that strengthens our relationship with local communities. But also, there is the prestige that comes with handling museums, palaces and some of the worlds most famous addresses.This Operational Portfolio Manager role is pivotal for both the Council and the community. Youll help lead a £610m portfolio that provides around £15m of vital funds to the Borough each year. But equally, with you at the helm, our operational properties will become discernibly more inspiring, more supportive, and more reflective of peoples needs.The Role:Reporting to Head of Property, your focus will be purely on our operational properties, ranging from refuges to storage depots, care homes to customer service bureaus.Through your large team of surveyors and support staff, youll manage investment programmes, report on building safety, handle marketing and vacancies, negotiate leases and lead on risk management.Senior colleagues and key external stakeholders will consider you a trusted source of advice too.However, the core challenge here is to evolve our portfolio - to design and lead an estate management approach that appraises properties, and balances commercial revenues against potential new uses that might better suit the community.About You:As an RCIS qualified surveyor (or equivalent), youll have a wealth of experience managing large operational estates.
