Job Description

QuantSpark is pioneering the strategic application of data science through the development of complex decision-support software. This role is for an Analyst to join QuantSparks Open Source Intelligence Team (OSINT).Together we deliver strategic level analysis and build mission-critical tools to support our customers making smarter decisions. Our hybrid approach to data-strategy means we combine understanding an organisations strategic objectives with our ability to build sophisticated tools and carry out meaningful analysis of large, complex here. To find out more information on QuantSpark, please visit our website: Role: Open Source Intelligence AnalystWe are looking for an Analyst to work in our Open Source Intelligence team. The role will involve collecting, collating and analysing publicly available information online as well as drafting analytical reports. You will be responsible for conducting online investigations for a variety of our clients including IGOs, the public and private sector.Requirements

  • 2+ Years of OSINT and SOCMINT experience
  • Investigative mindset, excellent problem solving and conceptual thinking capabilities
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to analyse and describe complex findings
  • Knowledge and experience of working within the Deep and Dark Web
  • Experience using well known OSINT and social media analysis tools and ability to describe advantages and disadvantages of each when conducting different types of analysis
  • Ability to find open source information from a wide range of mainstream and niche social media sites
  • Drafting original analysis for clients in the public and private sector
  • The right to work in the UK is a requirement for this role.The following skills would be advantageous but are not essential:
  • Basic coding awareness (R, python, SQL etc)
  • Demonstrated knowledge around terrorist/violent extremist use of technology and the Internet
  • French, Russian, Arabic or Chinese language skills (working proficiency)
  • Relevant work experience (academia, government/military, risk consultancy, etc).
  • Experience of planning and conducting social media archiving and data management at scale
  • Experience in working with developers to help them automate basic collection, collation and analysis activities
