Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 Oncology Staff Nurse to join our Oncology Inpatients Unit at The London Clinic. We are offering a competitive inclusive salary range of £35,743 - £46,438 per annum. Our Oncology Inpatients unit comprises of 18 beds, all in separate, private en-suite rooms where we treat a range of cancers at The London Clinic including; Brain, Pancreatic, Cervical, Head & Neck,Bowel, Lung, Prostate, Bladder, Neuroendocrine, Skin, and Uterine cancer.Job ProfileAs a Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for the delivery of high standards of care and service to the patients and to work within a team to provide assessment and evaluation of care.

  • Job Location: This role is located at The London Clinics Duchess of Devonshire Wing in London, W1G 6JA (Close to Regents Park & Baker Street tube stations).
  • Job Type: This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Sunday. Shifts include; rotational Long Days, Nights & Weekends.
  • Salary: The attractive salary range for this role is £35,743 - £46,438 per annum.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsibility for individualised patient care acting as the named nurse and providing efficient, effective and evidence based nursing care to cancer patients at the Clinic.
  • Facilitate the provision of a co-ordinated, high quality inpatient service to cancer patients, and promote safe practice and professional conduct.
  • Competent in the administration of the SACT and the recognition of life threatening and/or oncology emergencies and acting appropriately.
  • Ability to work autonomously and also as part of a team, as well as organise workload in line with clinical priorities.
  • Ensure legibility and accuracy of nursing records and be aware of the legal implications of these documents in accordance with the terms of the Data Protection Act in the Clinic Data Protection Policy.
Skills & Experience
  • Registered General Nurse with valid NMC registration.
  • Post registration course in Chemotherapy Administration/SACT Chemo sign-off is advantageous but not essential as full training is provided.
  • Post-registration experience working in a UK acute hospital setting with Oncology nursing experience.
  • IV Drug administration experience we experience of looking after acutely unwell patients.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with good problem solving and organisational skills.
