Job Description

Position: Nursery PractitionerSalary: £11 - £13 (dependent on experience/qualification)Hours: Full time / Permanent / Mon-Fri / 40 hours per weekLocation: Waltham Forest, London E4We are currently recruiting for a passionate Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join our growing nursery. Our nursery is situated in Walthamstow/Chingford, London E4.Our nursery is a 45 place setting and set in a beautiful purpose-built building with 2 spacious garden areas.Your role as Nursery Practitioner will include: Provide high standards of quality care and education. Observe, support and extend childrens learning and development. Plan appropriately for children using the curriculum of excellence/ pre-birth to three. Good knowledge and understanding of the EYFS 2021 and safeguarding practice. Maintain accurate and effective childrens records, including 2 year old checks. Work in partnership with parents/carers and other family members. Demonstrate good practice with regard to special needs and inclusion. Ensure that children are kept safe and implement safe Safeguarding Practices. Be a Key Person carrying out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a small group of children and their families. Adhere to all Health and Safety policies and procedures. Work as a team with other staff members.Essential Experience:

• Work experience within the Early Years Sector
• Experience as a key person
• Knowledge of the early years curriculum and regulatory/statutory requirement.
• Sound understanding of child protection and safeguarding children.
• Specific Experience of working within the 0-5 years age group in accordance with the regulatory requirements if required
• Desire and passion for ongoing learning and personal development within the childcare sector.

Experience Desirable:

• Knowledge of Local Authority and Regulatory requirements and inspection processes across the UK
• Working within policies, procedures, regulatory and statutory requirement.
• Effective team worker
• Current 12hrs paediatric First Aid Certificate
• Proven ability to work as part of team to ensure essential day to day tasks are completed in line with nursery demands ie. Hygiene standards and room preparation.
• Experience of food preparation and the completion of relevant training linked to food management

Qualifications:

• 12 hours paediatric first aid (Can be completed within the company)
• Food Hygiene or equivalent training and compliance in food management (Can be completed within the company)
• Relevant safeguarding/child protection training undertaken and a willingness to update training regularly (essential)

Personal Attributes:

• Able to communicate clearly with adults and children using a variety of techniques (oral and in writing)
• Ability to support and inspire children in achieving the highest standards of care and education.
• Able to manage workload and manage time effectively
• Able and competent user of company ICT systems and have the willingness to learn and develop ICT skills
• Passionate in working within the childcare sector.

Essential Skills & Experience.

• Level 3 qualification in childcare or Equivalent.
