Job Description

New Business Manager - Prestigious Architects - London / Hybrid Working - up to £55k (DoE)We are on the hunt for a highly organised, meticulous yet creative, New Business Manager, with demonstrable business development experience writing bids and proposals in the architecture sector,to join a prestigious, international architects based in the City of London.The New Business Manager will work closely with the Head of New Business and Partners to help secure new opportunities and projects. You will help define and implement the practices business development strategy across all typologies andgeographies, developing plans to increase the practices presence in key operational markets. Your exceptional communication skills will ensure you are able to develop and maintain client relationships, your keen interest in architecture and design will allowyou to identify and track suitable project opportunities and your extensive experience will be utilised when taking the lead in the management of bids, proposals and presentations.Key responsibilities as the New Business Manager will include:

  • Supporting the team in identifying, appraising and responding to new project enquiries and opportunities
  • Overall management, production and submission of all bids and proposals
  • Writing, copying, collating and designing high-quality, engaging bid documentation for tender responses (EOI, PQQ, RFQ and RFP) and presentation pitches - coordinating requirements with internal and external stakeholders
  • Assembling fit-for-purpose consultant teams to respond to tender
  • Reviewing submissions for compliance, quality and consistency
  • Collecting relevant client feedback and communicating to the team
  • Maintaining a library of written responses, case studies and relevant information to support the production of bids
  • Developing and maintaining a network of contacts across clients, consultants and specialists
  • Logging and maintaining CRM records for new project opportunities and generating weekly reports
  • Undertaking research projects
  • Attending external new business meetings
  • Representing the practice at industry forums and events
What were looking for:
  • 5 years+ of business development experience writing bids and proposals for leading UK architecture practices
  • Highly organised and able to work to tight deadlines
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) - a second language would be advantageous
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to liaise with senior managers and external clients
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills
  • Proficiency using a range of software including Adobe InDesign and MS Office
  • Skilled in designing and preparing graphic layouts
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Keen interest in architecture and design
