Job Description

Network Engineer, Linux Systems Administrator, Cisco, Red Hat, PythonNETWORK ENGINEER:Candidates will have excellent Networking Skills (8 years +) including installing, configuring and supporting Cisco Routers and Switches with strong knowledge of OSPF, BGP and any Multicast desirableLinux Systems Administrator:Whilst the emphasis is on the Network Engineering preferred candidates will have at least 5+ years Linux Systems Administration Red Hat RHEL or any other distributions - CentOS, Kali, Debian, Apache, SuSE - with at least one Scripting language - Python, BASH, ZSH, PowerShell, Bourne, Korn, Perl, PHP, C-Shell etc.Key Skillset:

  • Networking: Experience in the configuration of Cisco network switches, routers and firewalls (IOS, OSPF, BGP, VLAN, ACL, LACP, DTP, VTP, HSRP, remote and site-to-site VPN, VRF, SNMP), and in the installation and configuration of a cabinet (power cabling, network cabling)
  • Hardware : Knowledge of HP Proliant servers (iLO interface and hponcfg/hpqlocfg command-line interface, RAID array configuration) and Synology NAS servers (DSM OS)
  • OS : Professional experience in the configuration and administration of Linux distributions (Debian, RedHat, Kali or others), Windows Servers (including Domain Controllers), Windows OS
  • Virtualization : Experience in the configuration and deployment of VMWare virtual machines (ESXi) and Linux Containers (LXC/LXD, Docker)
  • Databases : Administration of RDBMS (PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server) and Time Series Database (InfluxDB, KDB+)
  • Protocols : Knowledge of the protocols TCP/IP, FTP, SSH/SFTP, SNMP, FIX, HTTP/HTTPS, NTP, PTP, SMTP, SMB
  • Monitoring : Experience with a monitoring server such as Nagios, Icinga, Centreon, Prometheus
  • Programming Languages : Script Shell (BASH, ZSH or others), PowerShell
    • Other Desirable Skills:
  • Protocols : knowledge of VoIP, ZeroMQ
  • Network : Network packet analysis (Wireshark) and replay (Bit-Twist, TcpReplay or others)
  • Deployment : Experience with an automation tool such as Jenkins, Kubernetes
  • Virtualization : Experience in the configuration and deployment of virtual machines/containers on AWS EC2
  • Databases / Data Files: Administration of NoSQL Databases (MongoDB, Cassandra) and knowledge in data formats (HDF5, Wiredtiger)
  • Security : Knowledge of the security standards applied in the industry (implementation of a DMZ, passwords protection, communication encryption, penetration tests) and the encryption algorithms (DES, RSA, SHA-1)
  • Servers : Configuration of Office365 and Microsoft Exchange server, Apache, Nginx, Git, Subversion, Bind9, OpenLDAP, CUPS, Syslog/Syslog-ng, Redmine
  • Programming Languages : C/C++, Python
    • Any CCNA / CCNP, CCIE, RHCSA / RHCE qualifications all beneficial.Any previous Financial / Banking experience in an Low Latency environment including Network / BIOS / Kernel Tuning and Optimization and any Dev Ops experience is highly advantageous … although this is a superb opportunity for someone with the core Technical Skills to gain experience in other invaluable areas.Non Essential But Other Highly Desirable Skills:
  • Previous experience supporting Futures & Options Trading / Settlement Systems.
  • Knowledge of at least one of the ISV’s products - Trading Technologies, Stellar, ULLink, WebICE, Object Trading, Fidessa, ION / Patsystems, Trayport.
  • Exchange Connectivity - ICE / LIFFE, Eurex, CME / CBOT, Xetra, Chi-X, LME, LSE, NYSE.
  • FIX Connectivity - Client On-boarding, Support / Troubleshooting of FIX Logs / Connections.
  • Other Market Data - Reuters, Bloomberg, CQG, Ateo (Teo and Lisa).
