Job Description

Who youll be working for:NK Computers has over 30 years of expertise in providing quality IT Solutions to SME. As one of the principal IT companies in the UK, NK Computers believe their approach to IT support allows them to offer clients an excellent IT solution at an optimal cost.Whats in it for you:We are now looking for an eager candidate to join us as an network apprentice. You will work with public and private cloud services, large enterprise wired and wireless network infrastructures through to end user troubleshooting.You will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills, knowledge and experience as you complete an IT Network Engineer Level 4 Apprenticeship.Duties:You will be responsible for:

  • Prioritising and resolving incidents escalated by customer service or raised directly by customers into network operations
  • Utilising monitoring systems to proactively identify and resolve potential issues
  • Conducting a thorough first line technical analysis of incidents including collecting and analysing relevant diagnostics
  • Using management platforms and system tools to aid clear logical substantiated analysis of incidents
  • Working with customer site champions to carry out initial triage
  • Ensuring consistent, accurate and timely updates to tickets
  • Ensuring timely internal and external communications per SLA
  • Handling customer calls into Network Operations whilst on shift
  • Providing detailed handovers to next shift of all open issues and planned maintenance
  • Adding, removing and configuring network devices, updating the monitoring system and documentation.
  • Completing infrastructure documentation and knowledge base development to improve team knowledge and troubleshooting
  • Delivering all set targets to contribute to a successful business function in line with the strategic objectives
What we are looking for:You will need the following skills:
  • Previous IT related work experience
  • The ability to work individually and as part of a team, potentially covering extending working hours
  • The desire to learn new technologies, develop advanced networking skills and share them across the team
  • Strong desire and knowledge to work within an Internet Service Provider industry and in a close-knit team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Additionally, the following skills are desirable:
  • Identifying and assessing customers needs to achieve and exceed customer satisfaction
  • Building sustainable relationships and trust with customers through open and interactive communication
  • Handling customer queries, provide appropriate solutions and alternatives within the expected time frame and follow up to ensure resolution
Entry requirements:The entry requirements for this programme are as follows:
  • an A-Level in ICT
  • OR an International Baccalaureate at Level 3 ICT
  • OR an A-Level 3 apprenticeship in a similar subject
  • OR a BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (180 credits)
You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme.
