Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Network & Security Consultant to support and administer our 800+ UK sites working as part of our Head Office IT Infrastructure Team, supporting Lidl GB and International projects whilst contributing towards the technical specification and design.The ideal candidate will be an experienced Network Professional with CCNP level broad network skills, capable of proficiently supporting our UK WAN.** As per our internal job structure, your contractual job title will be Network and Security Consultant **What youll do

  • Maintain and support Lidl GB network equipment and infrastructure
  • Provide expert support for LAN/WAN related network issues
  • Rollout and solution implementation of projects
  • Ordering and Asset Inventory
  • Change control (CAB) and task scheduling
  • Carry out BAU maintenance, and monitor network
  • Maintain and report SLA and KPI where specified
  • Monitor and resolve departmental call management tickets
  • Produce problem reports and escalations where necessary
  • Update and maintain network documentation and procedures
  • Consult and design following Lidl best practice and procedures
  • Work with third party contractors and external service partners
  • Support locally, remotely and using cloud – based tools
  • Work on non-network related projects
  • Provide “Out of Hours Support” on a scheduled rotation
  • Travel and overnight stay where required
    • What youll need
  • Cross sectional experience working to CCNP level or above is essential
  • Experience supporting a large multisite MPLS, L3 and L2 Cisco network is essential
  • Experience of supporting and configuring IPSEC, DMVPN
  • Confident supporting and configuring CUCM, SIP and Cisco VOIP products
  • Experience of supporting and configuring Cisco WLC and WLAN products
  • Experience of supporting and configuring Cisco ASA
  • Broad experience of hands on installation and support of Huawei / Fortinet routing, switching and firewall technologies in an Enterprise environment.
  • Design and test new solutions for use in the business
  • Able to produce drawings, and technical documentation using Microsoft VISIO, WORD, EXCEL and PowerPoint of a good technical standard
  • Able to respond and support, incidents and requests to conclusion
  • Maintain monthly KPI and produce management reports
  • Maintain security patch management and routine software hardware upgrades
  • Experience of VOIP, WLAN, CUCM, Cisco ISE an advantage
  • Experience of Nagios, Splunk, Nessus, Cisco DNA/Prime an advantage
  • Able to work away and out of hours on call when required
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Self motivated under pressure
  • Good problem solving ability
  • Demonstrate initiative and problem ownership/escalation
