Nature Climate Change, Associate or Senior Editor, physical climate sciences Locations: London, Berlin, Shanghai, or New YorkClosing date: August 8th 2021Nature Climate Change is a multi-disciplinary journal publishing high-quality research related toall aspects of climate change. The journals scope includes both the natural and social sciences and economics.We now have an opening to join our team as an Associate or Senior Editor. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the physical science contentof the journal. The candidate must have a PhD, and preferably postdoctoral experience, with a strong research record in an area of physical climate science, for example atmospheric science, hydroclimate, climate dynamics, or oceanography, though strong candidateswith other environmental science expertise will be considered. The ideal candidate will have demonstrably broad interest in the physical basis of environment and climate, including social issues, across geographical and temporal scales. Editorial experiencewould be beneficial, but is not required.Our professional editors make the final decision on what we publish. The successful applicant will play an important role in determining the representation of natural science dimensions of climate change in the journal.They will work closely with the other editors on the on-going development of Nature Climate Change and all aspects of the editorial process, including manuscript selection, commissioning and editing of Comments, Perspectives, Reviews and News & Views, andwriting for the journal. A key aspect of the job is liaising with the academic community through institutional visits and international conferences, as well as engaging with stakeholders. This is a demanding and intellectually stimulating position. Broad scientificknowledge and training, excellent literary skills, the ability to absorb new areas of research, and a keen interest in the practice and communication of research are prerequisites. The successful candidate will, therefore, be dynamic and have excellent interpersonalskills. The salary and benefits will be competitive, reflecting the critical importance and responsibilities of this position.The position will be based in our London, Berlin, Shanghai, or New York office. All employees are working remotely until the officesre-open.
