Job Description

Job Title: Secondary Music TeacherLocation: Westminster, LondonSalary:£34,502 - £53,482Contract: Full-Time, PermanentAre you a passionate and talented musician with a desire to inspire the next generation of musicians We have an exciting opportunity for a Music Teacher to join our esteemed school in Westminster, London, starting in September. We are seeking a skilledand enthusiastic Music Teacher to join our dedicated team of educators. As a Music Teacher, you will play a crucial role in delivering engaging music lessons, leading ensembles, and organizing musical performances within the school community.Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality music lessons to students of all abilities.
  • Teach music theory, composition, music history, and practical performance skills.
  • Provide guidance and instruction in various musical instruments, such as piano, guitar, violin, or wind instruments.
  • Lead and direct student ensembles, choirs, and orchestras, fostering teamwork and musical expression.
  • Organize and facilitate rehearsals and performances, both within the school and at external events.
  • Support students in preparing for music examinations and auditions.
  • Promote creativity and musical exploration through composition and improvisation activities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel inspired to express themselves musically.
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback and support.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to organize music-related events, competitions, and workshops.
  • Maintain musical instruments and resources, ensuring they are in good condition and accessible to students.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification is desirable.
  • Strong musical skills and proficiency in at least one instrument.
  • Experience teaching music to students of various ages and abilities.
  • Excellent knowledge of music theory, composition, and music history.
  • Ability to lead student ensembles and orchestras effectively.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Passion for music education and the ability to inspire students with a love for music.
