Music Teacher | PermanentSecondary School | Central LondonSalary - £32,406 to £51,444Start Date -September 2022An outstanding OFSTED rated secondary school in Central London is looking for a creative, tenacious, energetic and inspiring Music Teacher to joint their collaborative Expressive Arts department and multi-ethnic school community. The school offers its students six principles of expressive arts as part of a broad and balanced curriculum: Visual Arts, Music, Dance, Drama, Media and Food Technology, all of which are studied by all students at KS3. The Expressive Arts department takes advantageof exciting local and national opportunities to encourage a passion evoking inquiry and creative expression. All teachers are expected to promote inclusion, diversity and a love of the arts, nurturing gifted and talented students.BTEC Level 2 Music is offered at KS4, giving students opportunities to develop practical skills in performance and composition. Music extra-curricular clubs are very popular and our young musicians enjoy collaborating with Dance, Drama, Art and Food studentsto produce and perform at showcases and musicals.The ideal candidate will be:

  • An excellent classroom teacher who is committed to the success of each individual student
  • Experienced in planning and delivering Pearson BTEC Level 2 First Award in Music and the BTEC Tech Award in Music Practice
  • Willing to lead on extra-curricular activities, and experienced in leading musical ensembles. The candidate will be working collaboratively across other departments and will be responsible for managing peripatetic instrumental teachers
  • Flexible: the ability to teach other subject areas - within or outside of the Expressive Arts - is advantageous
  • Able to demonstrate an ongoing commitment to their own professional growth and development
