Description: The primary purpose of the role is to conduct timely and accurate screening to identify SDNs, PEPs, adverse news and sanctions nexus linked to our existing client base via the batch screening process. Screening consists of checking informationobtained about a person / entity against the lists of sanctioned persons / entities with whom we are prohibited from making funds or financial services available. Screening will also include the checking of this data against intelligence compiled and maintainedby screening software and other providers to determine the risk a client poses from an AML, ABC, ATF and general reputational risk perspective. It is only through performing due diligence on clients, associated parties and their activities, and screening theresults of this due diligence that we can fully determine and mitigate the risks our clients pose. Key Responsibilities The ideal candidate will have relevant encounters reviewing and analysing a large amount of data, both promptly and efficiently, generatedfrom systems such as NiceActimize Clarity or systems alike. They should be able to clearly summarise the key findings identified to the relevant stakeholders after conducting and evidencing the research they have gathered to reach their conclusion. ScreeningReview Sanctions, PEP and watchlist alerts to identify SDNs, PEPs and adverse information linked to our existing client base (including 3rd Party Transactions). Carry out complex research/ investigations in order to confirm whether or not the potential matchesare actual matches, escalate in strict accordance with internal policy and keep detailed notes for audit purposes. Conduct additional manual searches where necessary to identify the risks our clients pose from an AML, ABC, ATF and general reputational riskperspective. Liaise with KYC peers, EDD / AML Compliance and other management including the MLRO. Provide ad-hoc screening support to the wider team for urgent transactions Provide standard guidance and support to colleagues through informal (on thejob) training/coaching in own area. Provide input and support to various meetings (including minute taking) Assist with ongoing project work to enhance the effectiveness of the Ongoing Monitoring process Preferred Qualifications Mandarin language skills(translations) Previous KYC/ AML screening / research using systems such as Alacra, World Check and Lexis Nexis. Relevant AML, Client Due Diligence, Sanctions, ABC, CTF and/ or anti-fraud working. Writing high level reports. A current understandingof UK AML requirements including JMLSG Guidance Notes, the Money Laundering Regulations, the Proceeds of the Terrorism Act and other relevant sanctions screening requirements and processes. Analytical mind-set with the ability to identify ownership structuresand apply the relevant KYC or AML procedures Ability to deliver high quality work under tight deadlines and pressure Adhering to strict procedures.
