Join Our Community A chance to join a growing team that are passionate about analytics.The UK Model Risk Management team is hiring a Model Validation Manager to ensure models used across the bank are fit for purpose.Our purpose is simple, better models = better decisions = better customer outcomes. Model Risk is a vital aspect of managing risk and it occurs in all areas of the bank. As industry continues to make more use of new data, latest technologies, and advancedanalytics, managing and controlling model risk becomes increasingly important.The difference you will make

  • Using quantitative risk experience to continually improve risk management tools and measurement across a wide variety of portfolios
  • Coupling business knowledge with technical expertise to turn technical output into sound business insights
  • Ensuring that models are fit for purpose in accordance with company strategy and aims, and presenting validation findings to approval committees
  • Identify synergies between the different validation tasks (e.g. valuation and adjustment models) to effectively manage and optimise the teams work
  • Continually assuring up to date knowledge of latest industry practices and regulations and the consequences of changes
  • Being seen as a Model Risk subject matter expert for key stakeholders, both within and outside of Risk
What you will bring
  • Experience in the development of validation of mathematical, statistical or economic models
  • A working knowledge of programming languages or statistical software e.g., Python
It would be great if you have
  • Appreciation/knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements such as Basel, IFRS13, FRTB, SS3/18
  • Track record of successful delivery in a validation or modelling role and experience of interpreting and writing technical documentation.
  • Presentational skills, good communication skills, self-motivated and independent individual
