Job Description

Miryco consultants are working with a leading independent global asset manager to recruit a Model Governance Manager into their Risk and Compliance function. You will be responsible for developing and delivering the model governance framework as part ofthe Financial Risk team to support the business in mitigating the risks associated with internally developed investment models.Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver the global model governance framework to mitigate, manage and assess model risk.
  • Lead the independent oversight and assessment of investment models, including but not limited to: independent model validation, review and challenge, and assessment of model risk using qualitative and quantitative techniques.
  • Work with teams in the front office to assess model criticality.
  • Engage with stakeholders from across the business as part of the model governance working group and on an ongoing basis in order to fulfil the framework requirements.
  • Provide support and development opportunities to junior team members.
  • Develop and produce management information and metrics for Board reporting, senior management, and internal oversight committees.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience in model risk oversight roles.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of best practice for model risk oversight as it pertains to investment models in the asset management industry.
  • Understanding of regulatory expectations related to model risk oversight.
  • Knowledge of financial market products, asset management products, and asset management industry preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to create or improve, implement, and maintain new processes, and analytical frameworks.
  • Strong experience and knowledge of relevant coding languages (especially R and Python).
  • Bachelors or Masters degree preferred.
  • Professional qualifications are a plus.
