Job Description

Salary: £60000-£75000Location: LondonGoodman Masson are working with one of the leading integrated energy companies in exploration, production, transport and marketing of oil and natural gas to source a risk analyst to join the Market Risk Team based in London.Responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Daily monitor the market exposure and profit and loss movement for assigned physical books and associated derivatives; Daily generate exposure and risk metric computation, assuring accuracy and timeliness;
  • Analyse, look into, and comment on PNL trading results with a focus on trading and shipping performances and market trends;
  • Maintain a good understanding of risk metrics (such as VaR and stress analysis) and carry out ad hoc analysis as needed;
  • Maintain a good understanding of market conditions on monitored products by using the tools provided.
Ideal candidates will have:
  1. Knowledge of risk measurements including VaR, stress tests, and scenario analysis; experience working in a market risk environment in an oil trading organisation;
  2. Understanding of any trading platforms, including Platts Market on Close (MOC) and E-window
  3. Platform-specific expertise in financial hedging for products and oil
  4. Good experience working with VBA or SQL
