You will also be held accountable for the provision of evidence-based clinical expertise and guidance to inform pre-sales communications, claims and complaints management.Key responsibilities of our Medical Director - Policy & Evidence include:- Ensuring all relevant decision making across Vitality is guided by robust, effective principles of evidence-based medicine- Jointly overseeing and creating, developing, and managing our claims guidelines in a manner that is clear, simple, effective, and easy to understand by customers and staff alike- Ensuring that our guidelines and associated decisions take a pragmatic approach, incorporating both clinical and commercial inputs, to funding healthcare benefits- Supporting our customer channels to communicate complex concepts in an understandable manner- Overseeing and providing SME input for technical documents that require analysis of evidence- Leading the development and maintenance of an evaluation framework for our use of evidence-based medicine across the team- Contributing substantially to our continued drive towards outcomes-based healthcare- Supporting teams in the design, delivery and evaluation of pilot opportunities- Acting as a clinical SME for projects and initiatives across the business, developing policy positions and accompanying plans on strategic priority areasSkills and experience required to become our Medical Director - Policy & Evidence:- An active medical registration and licence with the GMC, or registration as a Public Health Consultant with the UKPHR- At least one postgraduate medical qualification or membership to a professional medical body- Demonstrable experience of relevant healthcare expertise, with part-time or full-time experience in a non-patient-facing role with similar transferable skills- Evidence of a strong skill base in evidence-based medicine, critical appraisal, epidemiology, and/or Healthcare Public Health- Experience in communicating and influencing up to CEO level internally and externally- Excellence in communicating complex concepts clearly to all types of stakeholders, verbally and in writingClosing Date: Thursday 18th March 2021Working for Vitality, youll experience an exciting mix of creativity and innovation, within a framework of challenging objectives and a passion for delivering the best.Our people are chosen for their skills, knowledge, enthusiasm, and attitude but above all, their belief that anything can be achieved.If you feel you have the skills and experience to become our Medical Director - Policy & Evidence,thenplease click ‘apply’ today.
