Job Description

We are looking for an experienced corporate affairs manager with strong media relations expertise to join PwCs Reputation & Purpose team in Corporate Affairs.A significant part of the role will be leading external People communications that differentiatethe firm as a progressive employer and a leading voice on vital themes such as social mobility, diversity & inclusion, post-pandemic employment and skills, and the future of work. You will work with people throughout the firm - from Executive Board membersto new associates - to develop and tell impactful stories about who we are.The successful candidate will work with stakeholders, including the incoming Chief People Officer, to define strategy and priorities, use judgement and market knowledge to advise onmessaging, and help identify opportunities for research and commentary. A key part of the role is developing broadcast, national, and industry media contacts, and building relationships with relevant external stakeholders such as industry bodies. PwCs purposeis to build trust in society and solve important problems. The team is responsible for ensuring that this is reflected in what we say and do, the stories we tell, and how we position the firm with our people and external stakeholders. You will be involvedin broader activity and campaigns to enhance and protect the firms reputation, and initiatives that bring PwCs purpose to life. Role responsibilities: Managing external communications for the incoming Chief People Officer and the People teams Developingstrong relationships with stakeholders to develop strategic communications plans and proactively generate stories Building strong relationships with relevant broadcast, national, and trade journalists Managing a high volume of media enquiries, and regularproactive and reactive commentary Simplifying complex analysis for a range of audiences Working with Corporate Affairs colleagues to ensure aligned messaging and integrated communications across different channels - including internal and social media Projectmanaging major campaigns Supporting and managing other initiatives and programmes as neededThe ideal applicant will: Be confident building relationships across all levels of the business Have proven media relations experience (PR or journalist) and a trackrecord in delivering high quality media/digital campaigns An excellent communicator and writer, able to develop engaging and innovative content across multiple channels and adapt their writing style for different voices Show sound judgement (eg in relationto political and social context) and recognise when it is necessary to consult with others Enjoy working under pressure, producing commentary quickly and and managing issues with the support of senior team members A self starter who is creative and able toact on their own initiative to develop content from scratch A team player who is able to collaborate with people across the Corporate Affairs theme to maximise impact Intellectually curious - interested in social mobility, diversity & inclusion, hybrid working,and the future of work, with a keen eye for the news agenda Be proactive, flexible and positive in their attitude and approach to work, and their own development Corporate Affairs works to ensure our firm has a distinctive, coherent and aligned market presenceacross the firm.
