Job Description

Our client are well known within financial services, journalists are always interested in the impact of their work and they receive daily media coverage.As a Media Relations Adviser, youll help our client tell the stories of the work they do for individuals, how they add value to society and improve lives. Youll support the drive to identify the people and stories that help promote the vital work thatwe do through the media. You will monitor and respond to enquiries from journalists, supporting responses and assisting the media relations team in daily core duties. You will also build effective relationships with journalists so that stories can reach targetaudiences.You will work with our senior leaders to help achieve the objectives of the communications strategy. You will support workstreams and projects that help the organisation achieve its strategic objectives and help us deliver on our mission and commitmentsto provide an efficient world class ombudsman service.Duties:

  • Supporting and assisting the media relations team and the press office function.
  • Proactive engagement, building relationships with journalists to increase coverage opportunities for the service.
  • Monitoring, allocating and supporting the response to all media enquiries in a timely way.
  • Writing statements, press releases and materials that will be used externally in the media.
  • Supporting media ambassadors for the brand and shaping their role in telling our stories.
  • Assisting in the organising and planning of media training sessions.
  • Compiling timely media morning coverage briefings and daily media roundups of enquiries and handling.
  • Writing news content for online purposes and supporting the digital team with our social media platforms.
  • Producing coverage evaluation reports and compiling media target lists for pitching stories.
  • Proactive horizon scanning of the external media landscape and the news wires searching for opportunities to increase coverage.
