Job Description

Due to expansion, a company at the forefront of advances in heat pump design and installation in the UK is looking for a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer to join its team to help deliver their exciting project pipeline. The main office is in North London, where the expected majority of working time will be spent, although there will also be time on site at various projects across the UK. They have a collaborative, flexible culture, and as a small and fast expanding organisation, are looking for people with a similar approach to making sure that projects are delivered successfully.As a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer, you will

  • Take responsibility for complete project developments, across the mechanical and electrical scope.
  • Create conceptual design.
  • Size and select major components, pipework and fittings.
  • Produce high level controls strategy.
  • Ensure selected components are compatible with any power / controls requirements.
  • Liaise with and manage M&E contractors during installation.
  • Produce high level Function Block Diagrams (FBD) along with specs for Panel build and on-site wiring.
  • Produce power requirements calcs.
  • Review quotes and drawings (wiring diagrams).
  • Get involved in system commission activities and commissioning systems on site.
    • We are keen to speak to people about this Mechanical and Electrical Engineer role with the following skills and experience:
  • Have a minimum BEng, preferably Meng qualification.
  • Knowledge of heat pumps and refrigeration.
  • Good knowledge of industry standards for the design of water systems such as CIBSE and BSRIA.
  • Good knowledge of IEE Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
  • Experience using a 3D drafting application such as AutoCAD / 3D Revit.
    • The company are experts in the design of advanced heat pumps, including refrigeration and controls.
