Job Description

Purpose of the role:This role is an entry position into the Commercial & Marketing Department. This role will initially have two key responsibilities. The first will be to fully understand and analyse our business performance both from a sales point of view to an overall websiteperformance and conversion rate view, and to be responsible for daily reports that will be sent out to the whole company. This will be the primary focus of the role. The second area of focus will be analysing and optimising our paid search campaigns, focusingon optimising ROI for new and existing users.Applicants are expected to demonstrate a keen sense of intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn on the job, and to have ambitious career expectations. The successful candidate will need to be able to manipulate data in order to problem solve and tointerpret data resulting in real tangible suggestions and optimisations.Initially the primary responsibilities of this role will be to master the internal reporting and be able to provide senior managers with business insight. However the role will also be responsible for supporting other members in the team optimize paid search.Main responsibilities and duties:

  • Run and maintain daily/monthly reports tracking business area performance against targets.
  • Understanding the data in these reports is essential to be able to analyse and explain anomalies or trends in the data to the exec team.
  • Design and create daily/weekly/monthly reports as the business requires (in Excel and SQL).
  • Perform bespoke analysis to help answer management, financial and strategic questions
  • Debate output, insight and commercial implication of the analysis to the business
  • Work closely with our Paid Search agency to run tests, monitor performance and ensure the optimisation of our monthly budgets to maximise ROI while keeping the cost per new registration (CPR) low.
  • Optimise search campaigns in terms of seasonality, historic performance, and business trends.
  • Ability to scope, implement and asses performance of PPC campaigns/tests using tools such as Optimizely/Adobe Target with JavaScript knowledge.
Technical Skills required:
  • Independent, structured and precise work ethic
  • Recent maths, science or engineering graduates preferred
  • Willing and able to independently think, investigate and drill into data, spotting and highlighting important trends, and be highly accurate
  • Excellent numerical and analytical competency
  • Keen to learn a broad range of analytical skills - advanced excel, SQL, JavaScript etc.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to understand commercial implications of data
  • Ability to draw the meaning out of data, tables and charts you analyse
  • You will be required to present data and insight to the most senior figures in the company
  • Exceptional candidates can differentiate themselves with proven experience and competency with: SQL, Omniture, JavaScript
