Market Risk Analyst - Oil or Liquids Main duties of the role Management of risk position, understanding pricing exposure generated by contracts and ownership of position reporting, reconciliation and hedge instructions for specific products or groups of products Production of daily mark to market reports, valuation of open positions and day one trading margins Working alongside the team to manage reference data within the trading system (quotes, curves) and accuracy of deal entry. Support the team, cross cover to help balance workload Back-office reconciliation, aiding the month end close process to ensure accuracy of the accounting result by reconciling between mark to market and management accounts. Ad-hoc analysis and breakdowns to support the trading business, improving transparency in the values and positions generated by business activities. Aid the transition of our current processes from an Excel based report into a structured CTRM system.Competencies Min. 4 years experience working as part of a substantial market desk or market risk team. Excellent data analysis and reporting skills Adept at manipulating complex and large datasets in Excel, strong knowledge of spreadsheet design, structure and formulae. Substantial practical experience in managing risk in a liquid products trading environment Responsibility for mark to market reporting and position management including calculating exposure and assessing hedging requirements.Personal Have a questioning and inquisitive mind - not afraid to ask questions or challenge convention, nor to drive improvements and efficiencies as appropriate Be flexible and adaptable, understand the overall goals of the team and actively seek to help achieve them. A self-starter that can identify gaps and structure their own workload to address problems that need resolving A strong team ethic working as part of the group to a common goal.
