Job Description

The Location: Houston or London Grade: 10 (For internal purposes only) The Team: Global Market Engagement Team is responsible for the development and execution of the global content teams and commodity verticals engagement strategies. The team meets with external stakeholders and entities, attends events, provides presentations and thought leadership, and provides important direction internally for the evolution of the market engagement capability at Platts. The Team provides an important bridge of collaboration between various departments including Editorial (all commodity teams), Analytics, Commercial, Marketing and Product to ensure alignment, and capture of opportunities and insights flow across Platts teams and between Platts and external stakeholders. The Impact: The Hydrogen/Energy Transition engagement specialist will fill a dynamic role where they will be charged with augmenting Platts visibility in the global hydrogen market. At the same time, they will work across teams to ensure development of sound engagement plans and they will ensure we execute consistently on those plans. This role, sitting within the Global Content tea, will be a major voice in the development and delivery of Platts hydrogen content (pricing and market information) tying to the overall Energy Transition effort and strategy and work adaptively amongst other ET workstreams as needed and identifying synergies. The individual in this role is also expected to be at the forefront of identifying opportunities for Platts, as well as addressing competitive threats, and will serve as a key support to the commercial team as they grow their own interests in the hydrogen space.   • Visibility with internal senior management and providing key market insights and advise to those stakeholders.
  • Meetings and presentations to external middle, senior and C-suite managers of major companies, organizations, associations and governments that are involved in the hydrogen and Energy Transition space.
  • Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a an expert ambassador on hydrogen and on Platts overall Energy Transition offering by engaging directly with market sources, (social) media activities, leading the internal coordination of engagements, creating/managing thought leadership materials, and presenting at events.
  • Facilitate the development of an engagement strategy/plan for hydrogen and ensuring the plans overall integration with the broader Energy Transition plan.
  • Lead collaboration with commercial in the hydrogen space, identifying opportunities and supporting commercial requests for engagement.
  • Lead best practices for Market Engagement, ensuring continuous improvement across the content teams
  • Identify new market coverage opportunities in hydrogen and energy transition, including price assessments, in growth areas in the region, and the development of a sound grasp of how Platts can best penetrate those markets with new and/or adjusted market coverage strategies
  • Develop a broad, quality set of contacts in the global hydrogen market.
  • What Were Looking For:Basic Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Platts pricing processes, products and content
  • Price reporting experience preferred
  • Previous experience in engaging clients or sources in markets
  • Leadership capabilities with a focus on strong influencing skills for both internal and external networks and the ability to work in matrix positions.
  • Strategic mindset with strong planning skills
  • Superior communication skills including: Public speaking experience; good listening skills and strong written and oral capabilities
  • Strong critical thinking capabilities
  • Understanding of regulatory issues in the region
  • Multilingual capabilities a plus
  • Ability to work across many verticals and manage through influence, not just through direct authority
  • Willingness to travel 40% or more
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of the basics of Energy Transition. Fast-learner and self-starter who is capable of quickly and continuously garnering market expertise.

  • Project/planning or management experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and other tools
  • Undergraduate degree with masters preferable
  • Multilingual capabilities helpful
