Job Description

My client is Currently looking for a Market and Street Trading Enforcement Officer.Duties Include:

  • To carry out regular inspections of all markets and miscellaneous stalls within the borough to ensure compliance within the London Local Authorities Act 1990.
  • To take enforcement action against any traders who do not comply by sending warning letters and issuing fixed penalty notices.
  • To carry out financial and administrative functions i.e. raising annual and ad hoc invoices for traders, processing payments for pitch fees, raising purchase orders for goods, processing invoices for payment, debt monitoring and chasing payments.
  • To set up, maintain and develop administrative systems, processes and procedures that support the work of Street Trading and Markets including processing street trading and Distribution of Free Literature Licenses (DFL).
  • To provide information to, and answering queries from members of the public as well as senior management and members from within the Council. Investigating and answering formal complaints, councilor enquiries and requests for information.
  • To provide systems, telephone and administrative support to the markets and street trading team.
  • To provide a high level of proficiency in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database and MS PowerPoint software to the Borough and any other council systems.
  • To supervise and train apprentices and agency workers.
