CK Group are recruiting for a Marine Technical Adviser to join an environmental advisory organisation at their site based in London on a full time, permanent basis. Please note this role involves worldwide travel at short notice.The Company:Our client is an international organisation that advises the marine industry in relation to environmental disasters. Their aim is to minimise the impact on the environment and economic resources by providing their technical knowledge. The company is now looking for 3x Technical Advisers to provide advice to the marine sector, who have experience applying scientific principles and training to their work, as well as strong time management and interpersonal skills. These roles would suit candidates who are confident communicators and able to deliver technical messages while also being diplomatic in challenging situations. The company offers a salary in the region of circa £50,000pa for this role which will depend on skills and experience. They are able to offer flexitime and up to 50% home working as well as other benefits such as 25 days holiday + public holidays, increasing with length of service,pension scheme, life assurance scheme, private medical insurance, season ticket loan and more.Location:The Marine Technical Advisers will be based at the companys London offices which are easily accessible on public transport.Marine Technical Advisor Role:Your main duties will be:-attending on site at oil and chemical spills globally-delivering advice to international governments and other parties-assessing claims for compensation-undertaking regular presentations -running workshops as part of the companys preparedness and education workYour Background:The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:-degree or equivalent in a STEM subject - essential-willing and able to travel extensively at emergency short notice - essential -ready to work long hours when required and to work under pressure - essential -good physical fitness - essential -comfortable with and able to climb into small spaces, helicopters, etc. - essential-fluency in English with excellent interpersonal skills - essential-an interest or passion for the marine and/ or maritime sector - essential -experience of working successfully in small teams - essential -relevant practical experience of pollution control and/or the effects of pollution on marine resources - strongly preferred -BOSIET trained - desirable -fluency in French, Spanish, Portuguese or Mandarin - desirableThese roles closes to applications on 24th May 2021.Entitlement to work in the UK is essential.
