Job Description

Your New Job Title: Mandarin speaking Chief Risk Officer / CRO (Wholesale Banking)The Skills Youll Need: Fluent Mandarin and English, with relevant level of Risk Management experience, in banking/finance in the UK.Your New Salary: up to £190k depending on experienceLocation: LondonJob status: PermanentWhat Youll be Doing Each Day:To act as a source of expertise to evaluate and recommend acceptable risk levels across all Branch activities and to specifically control all areas of risk through leadership and management while embedding a risk management culture.To Assist in executing the strategies set by the GM of the Branch, and to assist the Executive Directors in their task of running the business on a daily basis and undertake prescribed deputizing duties in their absence.To develop, maintain and update the risk governance framework, agreeing terms and the format for all reporting to ensure that all managers are fully prepared to review and be challenged on their risk mitigation plans.To make recommendations to establish and review the Branchs risk appetite and oversee the Risk Appetite Policy of both the Head Office and the London Branch.To make recommendations to Executive Management Level to mitigate risk within the overall Strategic Plan.To align the Risk Appetite Policy, ICAAP, ILAA and RRP to ensure that they remain internally consistent as well as up-to-date according to regulatory requirements.To establish and maintain a Risk Management Plan and exercise effective management challenge.To establish and maintain an overall operational risk framework, including a mechanism for systematic and consistent operational risk self-assessment by departments.To provide detailed reports on issues in strategic decision-making, keeping management apprised of risks in line with risk appetite and limits including ALM, credit, market and operational risk.To identify and analyze all risks to the Branchs business and ensure that they are controlled, including but not limited to credit, liquidity, market, operational, reputational and IT risk.To be responsible for the management of credit, liquidity, market and operational risk and to oversee the risk governance of regulatory, conduct and legal risk.To manage competence and training plans so that managers understand what is expected from them. This will include influencing managers to support the development of a proactive risk-based culture.Integrate risk management into all business decisions by ensuring effective risk identification and the creation of cost-effective risk mitigation plans and controls by working closely with the business.Benchmark risk management processes externally to ensure continuous improvement.Provide quarterly reports to the GM on the quality of the credit portfolio of the Branch and guidance on its future direction.To design, implement and deliver management information and regulatory reports, and executive the implementation of risk control policies and procedures.To maintain contact with fellow professionals in the banking industry to ensure that risk knowledge is up-to-date and maintained at a high level.To provide assistance and training to develop individuals skills within the risk process. Ensure the education of all the Branch London Branch staff involved in risk management.The Skills Youll Need to Succeed:Fluent Mandarin and English in speaking and writingCommercially-aware and experienced risk manager with extensive hands-on and strategic risk management experience across all risk disciplines acquired through senior management positions.Proven ability in risk identification and control development with an in-depth understanding of the credit, liquidity, market and operational risk requirements of various regulatory regimes. Working knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements.Knowledge of applying best practice methods, tools and processes.Solid understanding of the business, with an independent mind.Strong experience and in-depth knowledge of Wholesale banking risk management.Competencies and qualificationsA combination of qualitative / relationship management skills and quantitative / analytical risk management skills.Successful implementation of an integrated risk organisation.Strong communication, coordination, people management and leadership skills, including the ability to discuss and reach agreement with personnel at all levels and from diverse backgrounds.Competent report writer.Computer-literate.Degree in a technical or professional subject.Risk management qualification such as Financial Risk Manager (FRM), the Institute of Risk Managers (IRM) or qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA).Please follow us on WeChat - TeamChinaPF - to see all our Cantonese and Mandarin jobs, interview tips and London news:Please follow us on Linkedin: https://company/people-first-team-chinaWe would be grateful if you could send your CV as a Word document.
