Job Description

Managing Director (Outdoor retail ) A highly successful Japanese outdoor brand seeks a talented "Hands on" Managing Director to join their fledgling London based EMEA operations. As Managing Director you will lead the European operations and plan business development and growth in alignment with the board of directors in Japan.The Role

  • Overseeing daily business operations
  • Developing and implementing growth strategies and business plans
  • Creating and managing budgets, P/L, B/S and cashflow
  • Analysing financial data to improve revenue
  • Staff planning and hiring
  • Evaluating performance and productivity
  • Researching, identifying, and proposing growth opportunities
  • Generating reports and giving brand presentations
  • Setting up and securing framework of routines for all staff
    • The Ideal Candidate
  • 5 years experience as Managing Director and/or General manager in the outdoor industry.
  • 10 years experience in retail/wholesale/Ecommerce operations.
  • Extensive business network in the European outdoor and fashion industry
  • Experienced in working in an international environment.
  • Strong leadership
  • Strong work ethic
  • Proactive nature
  • A deep passion for outdoor activities, especially camping.
  • Experienced in a Japanese company /environment is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Fluency in Japanese is a plus but not mandatory
