Job Description

POSITIONWe are seeking an experienced Proxy Voting Manager to implement and lead the proxy voting process within the firms Investment Platform. He/she will be responsible for end-to-end proxy voting oversight, from policy setting to execution across equity owners, driving enhancements to the firms approach. The Proxy Voting Manager will work collaboratively across business areas, including research analysts and operational/reporting teams, and oversee our external proxy service provider. He/she will manage the ongoing evolution of our custom policy and represent the firms process in various settings and with client requests. ESSENTIAL SKILLSProxy Voting ExpertiseThe Proxy Voting Manager will have a deep understanding of the voting process, including the regulatory framework for voting across markets, and industry best practices for meeting these requirements, including practices at proxy service providers. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated knowledge of governance best practices across markets (e.g. director elections, evaluating management compensation practices) and a strong controls mindset to effectively manage execution risks throughout the voting process. Superior collaboration and influencing skills The successful candidate will enjoy contributing to a highly collaborative investment environment, and will embrace their role as the driver of the proxy process. He/she will build strong trusting relationships internally with colleagues and externally with clients, external service providers, and industry contacts. Process orientationThe Proxy Voting Manager will demonstrate the ability to think critically and assess large amounts of disparate information, apply our policies, and construct thoughtful recommendations and decisions. He/she will be able to think holistically about the proxy voting process, and identify opportunities for process efficiency improvements with a control mindset. Ideally the candidate will have experience with proxy vendors technology, but as a minimum will have experience with engineering complex processes through effective use of technology. QUALIFICATIONSThe successful candidate is likely to have: * A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in a related role, ideally at an Investment Management organization(s); * Strong attention to detail and project management skills; * A proven track record of delivery and engineering complex processes through effective use of technology; * The ability to work on both strategic issues and tactical execution; * The capacity to problem solve effectively; * A high degree of self-motivation, ad the ability to set priorities and execute to achieve them; * Strong interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to work successfully across functions; * A growth mindset, and love for continuous learning; * A global perspective.
