Job Description

Within Data Services, the Data Licensing and Policy team is a centralised product function leading data licensing, policy and pricing strategy for CME Groups Data Services. The team partner with all business lines at CME Group to develop new product licensing,polices and pricing as well as optimisation and commercialisation of existing products. The role As a member of CME Groups global Data Licensing and Policy team, the Manager, Data Analytics Licensing and Policy will be responsible for the development of policies as they relate to commercial analytics-based products and services offerings that leverageCME Group exchange market data. CME Group offers the widest range of global benchmark products across all major asset classes based on interest rates, equity indexes, foreign exchange (FX), agricultural, energy and metal commodities; cash and repo fixed incomemarket data via BrokerTec, and cash and OTC FX data via EBS. The successful candidate will have experience with licensing and the commercialization of client facing analytics solutions and/or cloud-based data consumption models. He/She will work cross-functionally with analytics stakeholders to develop unique pricingmodels, including cloud based - variable consumption pricing designs (e.g. cloud compute pricing), designed to accelerate our business model, provide clear value to our clients, and deliver long-term growth and profitability to CME Group. Further, he/she willcontribute to thought leadership on pricing strategy, with innovative ideas, and seeking out the opportunity to cross-sell and bundle solutions where possible. This position requires a keen understanding of financial market analytics and how trading participants and other clients may use them in practical application. The candidate will be required to provide extensive coordination, leadership, and teamwork with seniorlevel management across all departments internally (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Research, Business Line Managers, Business Development, etc.) and externally through customer networks and relationships. Key Responsibilities

  • Apply analytical rigor to the analysis of the companys pricing strategies including bundling, discounts, and partner programs
  • Optimize revenue and customer segment penetration across product categories and channels
  • Develop policies, delivered and enforced through data agreements, that seek to protect CME Groups intellectual property and data assets, while granting rights to clients to use our products and services in the manner they were intended.
  • Research and understand competitive offering pricing, and discount structures, and help build promotions
  • Create and refine pricing models for new and existing products
  • Collaborate closely with sales & product management to understand the product positioning, and product usage and review pricing models and changes
  • Develop business cases that align pricing and packaging with customer value and to drive growth
  • Establish and monitor key metrics and improve performance on an ongoing basis
  • Develop a deep understanding of customer segments, competitor offerings, and market trends
  • Partner across the companys product, sales, and marketing teams to deliver recommendations and analyses which drive growth
  • Lead with conviction and integrity, modeling professionalism, dedication, fairness and respect in the workplace.
Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of experience in the financial industry, data licensing, and/or development of quantitative models and analytics.
  • Knowledge of market data product, analytics, and cloud consumption pricing and licensing models across the financial industry is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of data and cloud business strategy and how products and initiatives contribute to CME Groups growth
  • A sound knowledge of pricing strategy with an emphasis on value-based concepts including, role of costs in pricing decisions, segmented pricing approaches, pricing psychology, price sensitivity factors and measurement techniques
  • A strong understanding of financial analysis including breakeven sales calculations and margin analysis and the role of competition
  • Creative, bringing an imaginative perspective when confronted with challenging problems
  • Experience prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective in communicating complex ideas or concepts in a clear, concise, and understandable manner across different levels of the organization, both verbal and written
  • Proven background in analysing, designing and implementing processes and policies to improve efficiencies and achieve desired objectives with a strong bias towards continuous improvement.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage, and execute responsibilities to meet or exceed team objectives.
  • A strong relationship builder who is clear in articulating the values, expectations and polices of CME Group is essential to the function.
  • Strong teamwork skills, with a demonstrated ability to interact effectively across organizations. Works well in a culture that encourages open communication, cooperation and the sharing of information.
  • Bachelors Degree (or equivalent) with advanced degree preferred.
