Job Description

Hunter Merrifield are thrilled to partner Cure Parkinsons to find a motivated Major Gifts Officer to support the charitys Head of Philanthropy to identify opportunities and increase funds raised in by the charitys Major Donors. This includes supporting,researching, and stewarding prospects and current donors.Job Title: Major Gifts OfficerOrganisation: Cure ParkinsonsSalary: £35,000Contract: Permanent, Full-timeLocation: Goodge Street, LondonClosing date: Monday 7th NovemberRequired: CV and Cover LetterCure Parkinsons are here for the cure. Everything they do is to move us closer to their goal, of finding new treatments to slow, stop or reverse the progression of Parkinsons.Key Responsibilities:

  • Co-manage the major donor prospect pipeline by reviewing, qualifying, and prioritising prospects, ensuring a high quality, insight-led prospect pipeline for the major donor team.
  • Communicate regular updates to donors according to their needs ensuring that Cure Parkinsons offers high quality stewardship to donors.
  • Recruit and secure new donors to the major donor programme to support Cure Parkinsons work
  • Working with the Head of Philanthropy, lead the growth of a high value major donor programme, particularly focusing on giving above £50,000.
  • Communicate regular updates to donors according to their needs ensuring that Cure Parkinsons offers high quality stewardship to major donors.
  • Recruit and secure new donors to the major donor programme to support Cure Parkinsons work.
Development Board
  • Be the main point of contact for the development board.
  • Support the success of the Development board by ensuring the board members are aware of how they can help support major donor fundraising, with ad hoc or multiyear donations, Cure Collective membership, and ensure all opportunities are maximised.
  • Work with the senior leadership team to ensure they are aware of and supporting the development boards work
Skills and Abilities
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic worker
  • Excellent communicator both written and face to face with an ability to adapt to each donors individual needs
  • Flexible approach to working conditions and working environment change
  • Sense of humour, honest, empathetic, approachable, and enthusiastic
  • Strong planning and organisational skills and an ability to manage a demanding workload
