Mainframe DeveloperLondon£50,000 - £70,000 A leading consultancy organisation is currently recruiting for a Mainframe Developer ideally with messaging experience, to work alongside the mainframe application developers, working as part of a team that provides support and development. The team the Mainframe Developer will be working in is responsible for maintaining a mission critical system.Role and Objectives*Participate in a Scrum team developing modern and innovative solutions for the*client*Undertake implementation work on different modules of the product as required*and be able to switch comfortably between areas of the product when necessary*Perform requirement analysis to create low level design artefacts for individual*modules - translate requirements into designs*Implement modules based on High Level Designs and as per the projects quality*guidelines*Perform Unit tests and test developed changes in Integration*Perform root cause analysis of potential issues reported on production as well as*test environments*Implement fixes to address defects raised on the system*Provide status updates to project managersSkill-Set*C development skills particularly in comms/interfaces (including front-end development)*An understanding of messaging protocols and message brokers*Willing to learn OS2200 mainframe, such as comms and subsystem environment*Knowledge of relational databases and hierarchical database preferred*Knowledge of COBOL would be desirable (not essential)Spring acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
