Job Description

ZSL London Zoo is looking for a Logistics Operative to join our team for three days a week on a permanent basis.Logistics OperativePosition Type: Part-Time / Fixed Term ContractSalary: £13,475.40 Enhancements London WeightingThe successful candidate will support the logistics team with tasks related to animal food stores, transport, our post room and the retail stockroom.Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Drive a variety of vehicles and plant e.g., forklift trucks, tractors, vans, trucks, and cars.
  • Undertake duties relating to a mail room, involving sending and receiving mail, parcels and interacting with couriers and staff.
  • Assist with animal moves/collections both internally around site and externally to other Zoos.
  • Place orders with approved suppliers.
  • Maintain required stock levels and to ensure stock rotation.
  • Work with the animal and other departments in relation to animal produce requirements and deliveries.
  • Prepare food produce for delivery to sections.
Person Specification
  • Full clean driving licence with no endorsements, (ideally including category C1)
  • Able to communicate with a wide variety of people
  • Able to follow a process
  • Able to work on their own initiative
  • Good Interpersonal skills working part of a team
  • Able to use Microsoft Office applications
