This post is for a 6 month Locum opportunity with a potential for extension.The Barts Heart Centre & the cardiology department in the trust is the biggest in the UK and one of the biggest in Europe. Cardiology is a specialist department as part of the wider Intervention Directorate at St Bartholomew’s hospital, again, being the biggest in the UK with its complement of 10 catherisation labs (5 of which are dedicated to Intervention).Whipps Cross Hospital is one of a group of hospitals – Barts Health NHS Trust – the group providing a huge range of clinical services to people in east London, the city of London, and beyond.The Trust is also proud to be part of UCL Partners, Europe’s largest and strongest academic health science partnership. The objective of UCLPartners is to translate cutting edge research and innovation into measurable health gain for patients and populations through partnership across settings and sectors, and through excellence in education.We are looking for a consultant cardiologist who has an interest in General Cardiology and Heart Failure (inpatient and outpatient work) to enhance the existing cardiology team at Whipps Cross Hospital.
