Locum Associate or Senior Editor, Nature Ecology & EvolutionLondon, New York or ShanghaiClosing date: April 16th, 2021Nature Ecology & Evolution seeks to appoint a Locum Associate or Senior Editor to join our exciting, dedicated team, publishing original research in all areas of ecology and evolution, and developing the highest standards in editorial practice. The successful candidate will handle manuscripts in all areas of the journals scope, and play a key role in determining how the field is represented - through the editorial assessment of manuscripts for publication, management of peer review, commissioning and writing of content and by acting as Nature Ecology & Evolutions interface with the relevant parts of the research community.This is an intellectually stimulating position, and calls for a keen interest in the practice and communication of science. A key aspect of the job is interaction with the scientific community, including attending online conferences. The successful candidate must, therefore, be a great communicator and have excellent interpersonal skills.The successful candidate will need a strong track record of research in ecology or evolutionary biology.Applicants should hold a PhD or equivalent degree, with postdoctoral experience preferable. Previous editorial experience is beneficial but not essential as full training will be given.The position is offered on a full-time basis for 6 months and candidates will work remotely but will be expected to be based in the office once the offices reopen.
